Some Preliminary Notes on Matter, Energy and Information
There is a lot of study necessary to be in the community of workers who use specific concepts in specific ways. For example, the word information in genetics is used to refer to the code produced by a sequence of gene bases. This is an intentionally narrow use of the word information - and it does not have anything to do with other kinds of information. The word matter in science is usually specifically illustrated in either a physical or a chemical type. It may also be undergoing energy linked alterations. The word energy is also specifically illustrated in its great variety of forms - and also in its great variety of quantified alterations and conversions.It is difficult to generalize about matter, energy, and information, because these realms contain so many kinds of specific and unique events. In the end we must actually measure and identify those things in nature that interest us.
We always have to respect the particular audience that inquires into someone's research, because it is natural to believe that whatever novel event may appear, it is not so novel that it can not be defined by an existing context. I continually revise and correct my views as they are shown to be inaccurate, premature, historically massaged, and choked by the very language and only language I have grown to think with. When I finally construct a resting point which is a corollary to my or any prior view, it is not contained in the existing context, but goes in like a transfusion. The coupling energy involved in the tango between multicellular distribution sites of DNA is only possible because cellular ion pumps channel their cations through the long axes of these polymers enough to activate the Farady-Maxwell-Heaviside process of inductance and bulk field generation. These fields become the biologic action potentials. These resonant bulk field exchanges unify cell groups into synchronous tissues. |
