Response to a Critique Regarding a Corollary Genetic Code:
One of my associates forwarded a critique of my work by Dr. Joe Dresner,  dated September 21, 2000, and in keeping with academic habits, I now append my response.

1. As regards magical elements in potions, most medicines offer the magic of science to the patient. The language is a matter of context and emphasis. Penicillin is magic and so is aspirin, and chemistry is modern magic.

2. The genetic code does not at all explain cell development. Gene expression  is not covered by the genetic code. Only gene identity.

3. Oxidation is not a motion of electrons into the cell. And reduction is not a motion of protons into the cell. Oxidation and reduction are processes described by Gilbert Lewis and are part of all training in chemistry. Oxidation is the loss of electrons from a molecule or atom or ion.  Reduction is the gain of electrons.

4. A reductase does not inhibit electron transfer
.  A reductase is a catalyst which donates an electron. It doesn't starve tumor cells either. It increases the polarization density of the membrane.

5. There is no platinum in your car's catalytic converter. It is palladium. It  is not organified as a complex. The exhaust coating uses elemental palladium.

6. Organometallics contain the metal within an organic portion. The metal is sequestered and has new properties. A good example is vitamin B12 which contains cobalt. Raw ionic cobalt would be toxic because it would hydrolyze DNA.

7. I often make two or three new compounds a day. It's no big deal. I have a great new lab in Islip where we are building an FDA compliant clean room facility.

8. I don't do any polarimetry. That's polarography, and the specific form is  cyclic voltammetry. Cyclic voltammetry is one of the more advanced methods of measuring electron energy equilibria available to us today.

9. Things appear mystical when you haven't taken the course. When you learn the  material there is less mysticism.

10. As regards heavy metal excretion, remember the metal in palladium lipoic complex is sequestered and can not bind to biological materials. The complex   is excreted in the urine in 24 hours. Raw metal toxins in the environment are managed on a dose dependent relation by the liver metallothioneine enzymes which bind and excrete them.

11. Our U.S. drug development program is coming along steadily. Since we are a small pharmaceutical company we can not go as fast as a larger firm. However about 100 U.S. Oncologists are using our compound in non-commercial emergency protocol. We hope to achieve drug approval for several of our compounds and we look forward to the day when they are covered by insurance.
